Alternatively, you can make the filling, let cool, and assemble the pie, then freeze the whole thing uncooked ready to defrost and bake in the oven at a later date.

(D) Let stand overnight in the fridge.
(C) Remove the pie from the fridge 20 minutes before cooking. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the pie for 30 to 35 minutes, or until piping hot and deep golden.
