Garlic Green Beans—A 10-Minute Dish.

Cooks' Note

The beans will cook a bit faster if you snap them in half before microwaving. If you don’t like garlic, substitute table salt.

Recipe information

  • Yield

    serves 4 to 6

Ingredients

1 pound fresh green beans, ends snapped
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

Preparation

  1. Rinse the beans, leaving a little water clinging to facilitate even steaming. Put them in a microwave-safe container and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave at full power until just crisp tender, 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the wattage of your microwave. Toss with the oil and garlic salt.
