Frozen Mango Daiquiri

Plum Limeade

Adding rum or vodka to this plum limeade makes a delicious cocktail. With or without alcohol, the limeade should be served immediately, since it will quickly darken if left standing.

Fizzy Sour Cherry Lemonade

We've spiked this lemonade with vodka to make a refreshing summer cocktail, but you can omit the alcohol. One batch will completely fill your blender, so if you need more, make multiple batches rather than doubling or tripling the recipe.

Bhel Poori

Bhel poori is a savory puffed rice snack that's usually served with crackers (we like to eat it with a fork). The recipe for this one, which combines a surprising range of sweet, tart, and spicy flavors, was given to us by our art director Erika Oliveira's mother, who is Indian. The sev you buy should be thin but not very thin, or your bhel poori will be too mushy.

Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Peach Barbecue Sauce

Richard Montoya of Dallas, Texas, writes: "I've lived in Dallas for 20 years and I've noticed that the city's restaurants just keep getting better and better. One of my favorites is Jasper's in nearby Plano. When I take friends there, I always recommend the pork tenderloin." At Jasper's, the pork is served with bourbon creamed corn and a twice-baked potato.

Cherry Smash

The leftover brandied cherries will keep for up to two weeks in the refrigerator. For an attractive garnish, thread a 4x1/2-inch strip of orange peel on a short skewer and top with a cherry, then place in drink before serving.

Spiced Mango Lassi

This rendition of India's popular yogurt shake makes a cooling counterpoint to any spicy dish.

Tropical Rum Punch

Sweet and fruity, this is the quintessential beach or poolside drink.

Sparkling Mango Limeade

Can be prepared in 45 minutes or less but requires additional unattended time.
